  2. You are correct, they are no different, neither is an investment in added value, both are reliant on the faith of the users, and both can become worthless. Only one could be made illegal, artificially (and abruptly) crushing its value.

  4. Since stocks, and currencies including crypto can all go to zero, I guess you bet against the one can more easily go to zero. It's safe to buy crypto because all I could lose is my savings of earned currency, stored in crypto, and measured in currency.

  9. The government can do that. It can criminalize cryptocurrency (it criminalized owning gold once) and the abrupt fall of crypto prices would make those losses go up in smoke, reducing the money supply. If they ever feel the need to cut the money supply, they may well do that.

  10. The US economy has grown too large for the gold supply. A restructuring of our money to gold would be VERY stable, prices would also be adjusted, but could you mentally handle working for $.10 a day?
