If the Russian account is correct, Russia's flagship was built unserviceable for heavy weather. Knowing Russia, that IS possible, but seems less likely than a missile hit.

@jefbenley4409 I have experienced Russian craftsmanship first hand as a career. I was willing to give the Russians the benefit of some doubt, but if that hurts your feelings, I will amend my comment to "It was obviously the finest vessel ever to leave a Russian shipyard, therefore Russia is lying about how it met it's fate". It's pretty simple, either it was unseaworthy or hit by a missile. I hope this satisfies you.

@Westyrulz IKR? Perhaps they are simply lying about losing it to the storm.

@oldman2800 That would have been a "European" goal, like being good neighbors and conducting commerce without relying on large armies for defense, using goodwill for defense. Russia has always had different priorities. In the "guns or butter" problem Russia has always chosen "guns".

@tomzamp8547 It does happen. There was one famous incident aboard the USS Forrestal.

@swugjay7189 Maybe they should get an upgrade before marching across Europe for conquest.

@swugjay7189 Indeed the US has many accidents and incidents. Oddly, the US does not go after other countries to seek "revenge" for our errors. Maybe that's just a Russian thing.

@swugjay7189 Well, I agree that our idiot president screwed the pooch, but since you've pointed it out, I understand now that our mistakes justify all future murders, invasions, war crimes and general mayhem. Everyone is absolved. By that logic, I should be able to murder my neighbor because a guy down the street murdered his neighbor. You must not be from the USA because you would know that the public was VERY angry about everything that you mentioned. Show me ONE post of mine that claims US saintliness. This century was the worst of us and maybe we learned better. P.S. Since you went all the way back to Vietnam, I will add that we finally walked away because the American PEOPLE opposed it en masse. I was one of them protesting ( I'm old).
