I had a white 1962 Chev II, no trim. I always thought it just looked like a white box with wheels. If I had still owned it in 1980, when stores were selling white labeled generic products, I'd certainly have stenciled "CAR" on the side. I did guess that you were going to go with a Fiat 124, but as generic beer cans vanished so do cars and "generic" does not require longevity or widespread use. I do not believe that a vehicle which is either very large or very small would qualify as generic; it'd have to be something in-between, thus the boring Chevy II.

No Lincoln Mk VII? The "Rich Man's Mustang". Loved the pic of the '87 T-Bird, I had one before the Lincoln. The Mk VII was a very schizophrenic car. High output 5.0 engine with factory headers giving two tons of car a little pep. A turning radius similar to a tractor-trailer and air-bag suspension that lived for expensive failure. All wrapped in high tech ( for the time ) luxury. It even came with a vestigial lump on the trunk lid. ( A trunk lid who's unnecessary hydraulic closing mechanism could chop off fingers. ) I did love that car.

I'd (almost) kill to have another Opel Rallye.

In Alabama, we have chickens in a LOT of these mentioned cars.

@GSimpsonOAM Where would the kids sleep if we gave the chickens the van?
