Because she is paying with pledges instead of checks.

It was something to consider before writing the op-ed (and conferring with ACLU lawyers.) The ACLU is not in debt here.

They want a do-over because Amber went off-script, this was a rehearsal and she's now ready for the real trial.

@revanninja She spent $400-$500 Per BOTTLE of Vega Sicilia every day. Shes looking as a real lifestyle change. She does everything in excess.

@xxzenn01xx9 With actual malice, she can't discharge her debt to Johnny...but she COULD discharge her debts to her lawyers.

@BuRstGuardian In large judgements, the amount is often reduced in appeal. All of this barking is about getting a lower settlement. If she insists on a new six-week trial, it is possible that The State might actually observe the case for perjury this time around.

@xxzenn01xx9 Appeals are about how the law was applied by the judge, not the facts as determined by the jury. She can certainly get an appeal hearing but even if she "wins" an appeal, the best she can do is a new trial. Her cray self may even think that's a good idea, but it's EXTREMELY unlikely, the judge was very good. Her best outcome is for the court to reduce the damages, and that is often the case. Nothing is going to salvage her film career.

@ApostateAlloy Last month I was like: "Amber who?". Today Hollywood is like "Amber who?"

@fauxque5057 I think that annual salary may get a downward adjustment and JD can claim a bit of it.

@martinhensel8737 You think she didn't spend that livin la vida loca?

@Garl_Vinland We don't have debtor's prisons.

@wyattfamily8997 Maybe Johnny will like it.

Aloe bath tonight for that burn.

I always thought that she was doodling cartoon Camille characters with daggers and stuff, because, you know.

The appeals court will play with the judgement amount and it'll be done. Except for these ridiculous statements, this is business-as-usual. There is NOTHING that Amber can do to rehabilitate her career after that bad performance, but if she makes enough noise, she MIGHT attract the attention of prosecutors interested in perjury charges.
