@dahasolomon7314 I had been a sickly child in the 50's and entertained myself mostly by reading. I have heard most of these eggcorns, but never used one because, as you say, the printed word provided protection from mishearing; now we have a generation that barely reads and will cheerfully write eggcorns online. Reading is becoming less useful for prevention.
