@WhatHappenedIn-vt3vq LOL. Russia's habit of winter fighting offers no advantage over Finland or Ukraine. You nailed it.

@DaHuntsman1 It seems to have been too heavy on combat troops for the support troops provided. I'm thinking 200,000 total with 120,000 combat troops. Perhaps they had planned to eat at McDonalds in Kyiv, and fuel up at BP.

@bamxire8845 No one is "steamrolling". The Russians advanced well through uncontested borders and were stopped when they hit the Ukrainian defensive lines. They are now sending recon units to probe the location of defenses; those probes are being hit hard. NATO is providing Ukraine with detailed, real-time intelligence. Ukraine does not have the manpower/ mobility for a counter offensive. Russia has wisely opted NOT to rush into urban meat grinders and has chosen to bombard Ukraine into submission. Russian aircraft are shooting long range ordnance from within Russian borders and Ukranian aircraft wisely do not fly much because there are so many stinger missiles handled by small units that friendly fire is a serious hazard. This mess will require a political solution.

UTubeFekUrself The Ukranian army has the advantage of internal lines of communication, (If the battle shifts, they don't have to move nearly as far) static positions, and no mass armored columns to move vast distances. Their supplies are down the block, not in a truck...someplace. The logistical challenges are MUCH greater for an invader. Ukraine had weeks to choose where to make their stand and prepare supply dumps in advance. The same cannot be said.

@robertjarman3703 In medieval warfare, at about 15%-20% casualties, armies usually collapsed in a rout. (Circumstances did vary).

@a564-c3q If the logistics troops are shooting at people instead of doing their jobs, the logistical problems will increase exponentially.

@jasperhorace7147 Putin's War has done more damage to Russia than anything he feared from NATO.

@bamxire8845 And yet, If Russia stayed home, Russia would be stronger militarily (didn't lose all this hardware and manpower) and economically. It is Putin's paranoia damaging Russia, not the West. If you don't like how your neighbor keeps his house, you don't get to burn it down.
