One of the most important things for society is that ... BUREAUCRACIES NEED THE ABILITY ... AND THE WILL ... FOR QUALITY CONTROL, i.e. to WEED OUT THEIR OWN MISTAKES/FLAWS. The british justice system (and the rest of its bureaucracy) does NOT have sufficient willpower for SELF-CRITICISM ... because - as @BlackBeltBarrister keeps telling us - "respect for colleagues of law is A REQUIREMENT", which basically precludes any criticism and makes correctional processes TOO RARE! We - including judges - are all HUMANS and thus MAKE MISTAKES! As a scientist I REQUIRE "criticism" from other scientists, who probably see flaws in my work that I have overlooked ... but in todays world of "science" you are not allowed to criticise anymore!

@iamurfriend01 Nice CLAIM you have there ... got any EVIDENCE to back it up? tl;dr Stop using your EMOTION and FEELINGS to make claims about trials. PROVE IT OR SHUT UP ... or else you aren't better than Amber Heard!

P.S.: The connections between the judge and Amber / the Sun have been explained already "back then" ... but since you cant be bothered to LOOK FOR IT ... you have to live with my "unflattering language". THE LAW does NOT NEED EMOTIONS and FEELINGS, it needs EVIDENCE!

@aresmars2003 Your logic is BS ... because there are still the newspaper articles that call him a wife beater. So IF he can get a shot at reversing the UK verdict he should take it. An APPEAL isnt the same as a trial, so he wont have to give evidence and his lawyers can do it for him.

You can only have "an axe to grind" if you have REASONS for it. Amber Heard is an evil MANIPULATOR ... who PLANNED TO TAKE WHATEVER SHE CAN GET! There are pieces of evidence which suggest that SHE MIGHT EVEN HAVE PLANNED TO KILL JOHNNY DEPP (through the idiot Josh Drew "white knighting poor poor Amber Heard"). The accusations told to her psychiatrists from the start - if they are even actually given to the psychiatrist and not added later on by Amber herself - clearly show that she planned for it FROM THE START. She changed her description from "a magical first year" to "he was violent from the start" (so why marry the guy then???) after all.

@hazelhadley-britt6396 People dont generally change their character later in life ... and it is extremely unlikely that he changed from "the sweetest guy" (his previous wives/GFs) to "a mean wife-beater" (Amber/the Sun) in his late-40s. I only changed my "personality" at ~54 ... when I spent eight months researching "certain 'asian' gangs" in Britain, which were doing "certain adult things" to girls of 11 years BY FORCE ... AND neither the police nor the bureaucracy "caring to intervene". The cause for my change is the latter part ... "police NOT protecting the children on a MASSIVE SCALE". Since reading 2000+ articles about it I have "violent flashes" every time I hear BS ... but luckily I live kinda like a recluse (and not in Britain), so there is no danger of anything happening. Its still annoying.

No. The legal system "favors" women ... unless they are 11-years old and claim to have been s. assaulted by "asian" men. That's when they get classified as "child-pro... ladies of the night" and their testimony is treated as "untrustworthy".

They NEED this "special dispensation" to even have the opportunity to appeal. Without it the UK courts wont even hear their arguments.

@Jono98806 Amber Heard doesnt have much money ... the Sun does. It would also give a powerful signal to other false accusers AND MAYBE ... stir up the british justice system enough so they do a minimum of "quality control". Their rules of "do not criticise any colleagues" is authoritarian and doesnt allow for self-control within the system.

There is a case in the UK, where a female student STABBED HER BOYFRIEND with a kitchen knife (a large one) several times (not life threatening ... IIRC it was in the legs) while she was DRUNK and ON DRUGS. The judge "let her off lightly" (community service or something NON-JAIL), because he didnt want to stand in the way of her dream of BECOMING A HEART SURGEON. She was reasonably pretty AND WEALTHY ... and had to "recuperate" from the trauma at the italian Riviera. tl;dr The british justice system is HEAVILY favoring WEALTHY WOMEN/GIRLS ...
