With the "sling-grip/hold" on the shortened shotgun it can also be used as a "punching weapon" in case of a fight turning into a melee ... no idea about the potential for damaging the weapon if you try to bash in a thin door or window, but the closeness to the hand means it is guided more precisely than with a stock.
