  1. I remember a story from about ~20 years ago ... about a small city (~10.000) in (probably) Utah ... run by a "Mormon sub-sect" around a certain religious leader. The girls of the community were married to men at 14 ... and then impregnated ASAP to have a bond/hold over the girl. Oh and it was "men with four wives" ... The FBI was trying to infiltrate it to arrest the leader for something or other ... but the citizens were crowding around him whenever a helicopter or other came near the place. tl;dr There are some "special rules" concerning age of consent/marriage in the USA and some allow marriage at younger ages with the consent of the parents.
