They are COMMUNISTS ... the "we are anti-fascists" slogan is communist rhetoric I still remember from the 70s ... when they always said shit like that in the GDR news (which I luckily only noticed from "over the fence" while living in West-Berlin). "The West" was full of fascists to them ... not because they believed it, but because they redefined fascist to mean "anyone opposing communism".
