  2. Instead of "trusting Youtube" ... GET AN RSS-/ATOM-/...-feeder instead! You might not get a notification on your phone (no idea ... I dont have one) or so ... but you have a small button in your browser and this shows a number with the new videos in your feeds. This is INDEPENDENT OF YT ALGORITHMS ... which is why its a great way to get notifications and the only problem is time-sensitive stuff like livestreams. I use Feedbro for Firefox and it works great.

  8. @Elijah McAbee 2nd was nice, but the rules for 3rd are much more logical and flexible. That is a personal preference though ... what isnt debatable is "only three alignments" and the "every class is the same as the other except for the colouring" nonsense.

  10. @Elijah McAbee 1st/2nd edition wasnt really balanced well and the addition of feats in 3rd edition allowed the non-spellcasters to "get a new special skill" instead of "yay, I just hit slightly better" while spellcasters get new stuff every other level. Thus 3rd edition is the best ... IMO.

  11. @Elijah McAbee The thing about the rules and addons for 1st edition is that they "arent logical", so you HAVE TO know them all ... whereas the rules in 3rd edition are following a "logical system" which also allows the DM the flexibility to add and pick and choose. Just look at how differently the rules for humans and non-humans are in 1st edition. The whole class system isnt logical and full of different rules. Nobody "forces" you to allow everything that is in the rules to your players. If there are only humans in your campaign ... then that is "the law".

  12. @Elijah McAbee Yes ... obviously ... but why should every DM have to INVENT his own system for secondary skills and such? "Being very free with rules" tends to end up with MONTY HAUL campaigns or "the characters are superheroes who cant die" campaigns. Personally I think it is a good thing to have rules which both players AND DM have to abide by and which can screw either of them too instead of the "the DM can rule everything and do everything" style. The best campaign I ever was part of was one where we had a real chance of dying ... so we had to be careful ... and if the DM has the "freedom" (a.k.a. the DUTY to decide on a whim) to decide ... he is the one who kills the characters instead of the characters deciding badly.

  16. DUNE would have been important to me ... if they had at least TRIED to be reasonable. The clothes are DOGSHIT from what I have seen so far, because they "try to be different from the David Lynch version" ... which was pretty much PERFECT in set design and clothes. The ONLY criticism for the Lynch movie is the changes to the story - changing from "absolutely superior martial artists" to "sonic weapons" - but it is understandable, because ACTUALLY SHOWING this superiority on screen is really difficult, especially when you are not working with green screens but rather in a real set and open desert.

  20. I remember a story from about ~20 years ago ... about a small city (~10.000) in (probably) Utah ... run by a "Mormon sub-sect" around a certain religious leader. The girls of the community were married to men at 14 ... and then impregnated ASAP to have a bond/hold over the girl. Oh and it was "men with four wives" ... The FBI was trying to infiltrate it to arrest the leader for something or other ... but the citizens were crowding around him whenever a helicopter or other came near the place. tl;dr There are some "special rules" concerning age of consent/marriage in the USA and some allow marriage at younger ages with the consent of the parents.
