As a german I KNOW about "Kadavergehorsam" ... which can lead to wars (WWI to be precise, NOT the other one).

[If you want a "scary" day/NIGHT connected with witches in Germany ... there is the "Walpurgisnacht" - April 30th-May 1st -, which is when all the witches renew their covenant with the devil by dancing around great big fires on some mountaintops in middle Germany. It isnt a holiday ... well April 30th isnt but May 1st is the "worker holiday".]
