  1. #3 - We dont TYPICALLY have HOAs in Germany ... except when a bunch of multi-storey houses were built at the same time and then sold as flats ... there MIGHT BE a "council of owners" (EVERYONE has a vote) which decides about changes in management that affect everyone. It's not an HOA, because there is no boss". - The same applies to "Kleingartenanlagen", which are often enough a "Verein" with a chairman and so on. - HISTORIC CITIES are the only ones "meddling" in your decisions of what you can build/change, because they are preserving the character of the city AND they have requirements/restrictions for fire safety for example (because if your house burns down due to being badly protected, the other half-timbered houses next door are in danger.

  2. #25 "Formal dances" are not very formal ... because the people dont really know the "formal" (traditional) dances and just do regular "club dancing". I wish europeans would get back and VALUE THEIR OWN TRADITIONAL CULTURE more.

  4. #13 Pledge of allegiance ... but what about FREEDOM OF OPINION / CHOICE? That pledge sounds like INDOCTRINATION and reminds me of the culture we had in Germany before WWI ... Look up "The Prussian Robber-Captain who Seized and Scammed an Entire Town: Hauptmann von Köpenick (1906)" to see what this UNQUESTIONING OBEDIENCE might lead to.
