  3. +gojewla Ummm ... nope ... CGI is done only for battles, wider shots of the cities and Gollum, but the majority of it is awesome sets and New Zealand landscape. It is as "CGI" as Blade Runner (there is no difference between computer-created artificial visuals and matte paintings).
