  1. "You americans" need to stop saying "served as" ... because it is simply A JOB and not a service "for some other/higher motive"! They simply WORK AS [insert job]! Here in Germany we have VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS ... and that is "a service to society", but once you GET PAID ... it is a JOB!
