The best motivation and principles dont matter ... if you are making decisions based upon INCOMPLETE INFORMATION (i.e. your BUREAUCRATS lying to you / your personal knowledge of HISTORY being incomplete ... because US Media have created this silly image of "the USA has never ever done anything bad in the world for which they should APOLOGISE", which is the basis for the DELUSION that "the USA was at one point a GREAT nation" .. the POWER to beat everyone else up / REGIME CHANGE / DESTABILISE THEIR COUNTRIES doesnt make you GREAT ... if you actually use it. The USA has done so far too often and Ukraine, Syria and Libya are just the last examples from the last 10 years).
