  1. NO ... you need to make it ILLEGAL for politicians to take ANY money from anywhere else ... no book deals, no board of directors salary ... NOTHING (and ban all lobbyists from ever contacting a politician). More important than the politicians is THE REST OF THE SWAMP ... "cutting down the few trees in the swamp" will not make it "less swampy". You need to DRAIN IT (by firing EVERY BUREAUCRAT ... from education to the intelligence community ... and ban them from public AND MEDIA jobs ... and also the internet). I already covered the second part - banning lobbyists - above. Oh and ... in Ancient Rome they had a slave constantly repeat "REMEMBER YOU ARE ONLY A MORTAL MAN" to the victorious general on his day of triumph in Rome ... and something similar is needed for both politicians and bureaucrats: "REMEMBER YOU SERVE THE PEOPLE ... THEY ARE NOT YOUR SUBJECTS!"
