Well ... there is a speech writer for the Blair government in Britain 15-20 years back who admitted in a newspaper article that "opening the borders for diversity" felt more like "doing it to SPITE THE RIGHT-WINGERS" rather than because "it is the right thing to do". Sometimes the complicit can say true stuff ... the "broken clock" phenomenon.
