Slowing down is ALWAYS a requirements for tighter corners ... and for the Titanic AND this ship ... a HEAD-ON COLLISION would have meant they SURVIVE the crash ... but have to repair the bow ... because they are far FAR AWAY from the vital compartments in the back of the ship AND because they dont risk slashing up more than the ship can take.
