  1. There was no country called "Germany" in 1848 ... maybe get a better historian? The best government we ever had was under Bismarck ... who was a monarchist (-> right-wing), BUT he also was the first ever to implement "social policies" (health care, pensions and so on) ... to counter the actual left-wingers and not allow them popular support.

  2. The CDU is anything but "conservative" ... they were the masterminds behind the creation of the EU (Maastricht + Lisbon), which even goes against our Constitution. They also did the "allow migrants in" bit under Merkel (and even caused the tidal wave of syrian migrants due to stopping the funding for the UNHCR, which was taking care of syrian refugees in camps around Syria).
