  1. A piece of wisdom from 200 years ago [Jane Austen]: "Happiness in marriage is entirely a matter of chance, because you dont know the flaws of your partner beforehand." She fails to include that it is also a matter of WORK WORK WORK ... from both partners and that EXPECTATIONS are really rather the downfall of "happiness". As a pessimist I expect the worst ... and thus only get positively surprised, but I have the feeling that women are trying to "force optimism/happiness" (because they all "deserve" happiness).
