That assault on free speech started decades ago by the indoctrination of the people who are now in control ... and it will take just as long to get rid of it, unless some "drastic measures" are taken (like firing all diversity officers, gender studies professors an all other leftists ideologues in media. This is obviously never going to happen (and it would be an impractical solution), but something MUST BE DONE to preserve freedom of speech on the internet ... and that would be a rule for social media that "YOU ARE NOT A JUDGE, so you ONLY ban people if a judge orders you" ... plus "you MSM are NOT ALLOWED to use thought-terminating clichés in your reporting and MUST report from all sides equally".
