@rickyshiffer1519 Social media are NOT "promoting" anything ... except through their own messages. They are the MARKETPLACE OF IDEAS now ... and you are mincing words to prevent them from being FORCED to neutrality. Section 230 was made for COMMON CARRIERS like phone companies ... but it assumes that these companies are NOT LIMITING ANY SPEECH; they might be required to HELP LAW ENFORCEMENT to catch criminals ... but they are NOT law enforcers themselves. Social media DO enforce their own rules - which phone companies do NOT have - to be able to kick certain people and opinions off their platforms. Thus they are clearly transgressing against Section 230 ... but the stupid judges are unwilling to even allow them to be sued. You should look up a recent statement by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas on this topic ...

Breaking up big tech WILL CHANGE NOTHING ... because the companies have an INCESTUOUS RELATIONSHIP with each other through people moving from one company to the next ... and to the Biden Administration. The coordinated effort to "remove unwanted people" at the same day should show that ... just like the 2014 slew of "gamers are dead" articles which came out on the same day and which were part of the Gamer Gate scandal showed. NO CIRCULAR CITATION, media NEED to have researched a statement themselves!) ... PLUS draconic penalties ... like being banned from ever making money through words or programming again OR being banned from using a computer or mobile phone for 10 years ... and for executives: loss of ALL PROPERTY (including stuff that was given away to charities/foundations/family members!).
