Oh come on ... climate - or rather the consequences of a warmer world - isnt that difficult to understand. - hurricanes draw their energy from the temperature of the ocean ... and the warmer the ocean is the more destructive the hurricane - global warming is happening ... just look at the glaciers in the Alps and compare them with pictures from 50 years ago - and now the critical part: IT DOESNT MATTER WHO CAUSED IT (humans OR the sun) ... global warming will be BAD for humanity! More and more powerful storms will destroy more stuff and wreck cities. Too many people in the USA think that "I didnt push any button, so I am not to blame for global warming" ... and that is the reason why they reject it. They DONT WANT TO BE BLAMED for it (even though they probably are ... alongside everyone else in industrialized countries). The bottom line is: we MUST do everything we can to reduce this effect, because we cant afford half the planet turning into deserts and the other half into swamps ... that would be wayy worse than spending whatever amount of money you are too miserly to spend. Oh and think about it this way: The money WONT BE BURNED ... IT WILL CREATE JOBS and that is exactly what we need! Also: We can NOT "guarantee the results" because we havent done anything like this ever before. If our predecessors followed that mantra we would still live in caves because NO ONE WOULD EVER HAVE DONE ANYTHING NEW.
