  9. All those streets you drove down , Nick, I've spent hours on end walking thru them , know people there & spent a few months in one of the shelters you drove by. I was one of the very rare ones who really didn't need to be there or look like I belonged there. I was essentially punishing myself for past mistakes I made. The 24 hour showers on one of those streets that were open for the homeless, the lady that worked there looked at me & said " you don't belong here, get out of this place as fast as you can". I knew what she meant, so although I already knew that, it prompted me even more so to leave sooner & stop being so stubborn. I'm doing REALLY well now & will soon have my own place . Not in LA though 🤧🤮🤢😱

Just a regular teenager I was . My mom wanted a perfect Barbie, not me ....EVER. soon , my grandma couldn't handle me . One time I told my uncle to fuck off & my grandma got super mad at the breakfast table . In Idaho I went to a junior high where even the girls chewed on tobacco. I wanted to try it , so one day I came home from school & there was a little cannot Skoal on my dresser. My grandma decided to be a smart ass. Or maybe it was my grandpa , or Uncle, IDK.... I tried it & threw up on the spot. Final footnote & the only good thing that I remember from living there: I bought the Queen album "Play the Game"

True story: I was wlkng by skid row park one night on the way back to the shelter (united rescue mission) & this man stopped me for a cigarette , which I of course gave him because he was a super nice man. I proceeded to ask him (Lucky was his name) a very important question: Lucky, why is it that of all the places I've traveled, lived or visited that right here in skid row , I feel like noone has been an asshole to me? I feel fine here despite all rumours of this being a ground zero danger area. He said , " because we all lookout for each other here " . Yes, he's right. However, I had to toss my stubborn ways to the trash can, because soon after that I decided to leave that place because of the sheer stress & depressed environment it was. I was there on my own will punishing myself for past mistakes. But I figured I'd paid for it tenfold there. Nonetheless, nothing bad happened to me there & made some super funny friends in the shelter . So many stories to tell... Ok, one story I want to tell is ,...... One morning we were waiting in the line for breakfast at the women's center & this was way before the pandemic. There was hand sanitizer on the wall & back then I loved hand sanitizer. I proceeded to slather my hands in it & put some on my forearms & some on my face, like how Macaulay Culkin did in Home Alone . I was happy. But then, this one girl who couldn't mind here business, told one of the workers there how I was bathing in sanitizer. Noone cared , but I stayed silent to keep the peace . Lol, me . Bye , Nick 🥳

When I'm exiting the freeway & see hobos with their pitiful little cardboard signs asking for money , i stop before the end of the exit. What's even more terrifying & this is really moving up in the creep levels, is when you see what appears to be a actually clean healthy looking family of four holding up signs asking for help because they lost their job & the kids are starving 🧐🙄 & they lost their house , etc yada yada. And one time in Palmdale CA I saw the family waving (like the royal family wave) to the cars passing by IN ADDITION to their sign of lies the dad was holding up. Now if that isn't a scumbag in disguise.......if me, a single female can easily find a job & I work every day, then I have no sympathy for what looks like a healthy male holding up a sign asking for help.
