@plebius I think the EU should punish the UK as much as it can.... And veto the Brexit deal, go to no deal so they can make UK can suffer... :)

@plebius It's a difficult one. Irish Nationalists love this Protocol, but it's a massive slap in the face of Unionists. Which is why they've pulled out of the GFA. Personally, I want the UK to scrap the Protocol. Are the EU going to order ROI to put a border up? Not gonna happen.... Will they make ROI put a border round the whole or Ireland? Maybe... Either way, it will sharpen minds. E-borders is the solution. Always was, but Veradkar wanted to try and split NI off from the rest of the UK, so he pushed hard for this deal. It showed massive niavity on his part. Us on the mainland don't mined Irish coming over to GB (as long as they've not Fenians wanting to bomb shopping malls), I don't think the Irish mind Brits coming over to ROI. So it comes down to goods.... And if it's about goods, then E borders and digital commerce solves the problem.

@plebius I'm talking about one of the Paramilitary groups, that have pulled out of the GFA. the DUP did sign up to the GFA. Ian Paisley is one of the signitors. He's in the DUP. E - borders. Let's say every truck entering NI needs a chip, this chip has a manifest on it with a load schedule on it. Where it's from, where it's going, what it is. This can then be checked from a remote location and spot checks carried out if necessary. Most trucks have trackers on them, so they're easy to follow and verify their embarkment and destination places. What would it cost. Not much. Britain is a World leader in microchips. ARM supply them to all the big tech companies, most trucks have trackers on them. Push this through and on to logistic companies. To monitor it? Maybe a few hundred on either side of the border, so no infrastructure is required. What would it cost? Less than £40 million a year to run, once it's setup.. That's a small price to pay for peace.
