What about Russia? Same too? Asking as a Russian
2
Russia is not enemy for Poland, bro. But Crimea can decide about their future. After linguistic apartheid.
1
It’s not annexing. People in Crimea wants to be a part of Russia. They want their Russian lanaguage.
1
Former Warsaw pact? U mean Slovakia, Hungary? People in Crimea can decide. Ukraine deleted all regional languages
1
Crimea can decide about their future.
1
It’s just a words. Putin don’t care about Baltics or Poland. But Crimea can decide about their future. There’s a two official languages in Finland. What’s the problem with Russian language in Ukraine then?
1
@panuveijalainen8051 Then why did he remove the Russian language in Ukraine? Imagine if Finnish authorities removed the Swedish language, or if Canada eliminated the French language. Do you think people who speak these languages as their native tongues would be pleased? It’s not a reason for this war, but still.
1
@panuveijalainen8051 I agree, that is not a reason. But for peace, a referendum from the UN is needed after new law about languages. But only people who lived there before 2014 should vote. As for Russia, it does not intend to attack Poland, and especially Finland. I believe we should be good friends, at the very least, who enjoy traveling to each other.

Stop watching CNN.

@ history is not a justification for depriving people of their right to speak their native language. Issues of language policy and cultural identity are very sensitive and complex. Respect for the linguistic rights and cultural characteristics of all citizens is an important aspect of democracy and human rights. Historical contexts can explain why certain language practices or tensions arise, but this should not be used as a basis for discrimination or restriction of rights. People should have the ability to freely use their language, learn in it, and have access to information and services.

@ Imagine if Finnish authorities removed the Swedish language from government use, or if Canada eliminated the French language. Do you think people who speak these languages as their native tongues would be pleased?
1
Stop watching CNN. Stop blaming Russia for USSR.
1
You are real brainwashed. People in Crimea wants to be a part of Russia. Russians are ,ajoritu population in Crimea.
1
But Crimea can decide too. They want to be a part of Russia after linguistic apartheid. Same for Donbas.
1
It’s not occupation. Just need UN referendum to legalise it.
