While I understand that you feel like you were born rich, not showing respect for the things that you do choose to have shows that while you may feel that way you certainly don't act that way. The house and things may be "good enough" but when you don't clean and maintain them you are showing that you don't truly care about the things you have. Cleaning isn't just about meeting some standard that other people set for you, it's a statement about how you choose to live and how much pride you choose to take in the foundation of your life.
