  2. This. I see a lot of doomer complaints in this thread about "I used to do X 5+ years ago and I'm still doing X but it cost more and I haven't changed at all nor learned any lessons." Around here there are a ton of open positions that pay solid wages plus benefits and they'll take anyone with a pulse. People have simply convinced themselves that they deserve to be immediately comfortable and living the life they think they deserve. Does inflation suck? Yes. Is life still livable? Absolutely.

  3. This. I think social media has twisted people's expectations of what reality actually is. It feels like too many people just expect a comfortable life that covers all of their wants and needs without grinding it out. They give up too easily.
