Ascribing some foresight and brains to what's left of the left in the US....they had to know they were completely cooked regardless of who ran, so instead of having a serious candidate go out to lose to Trump they threw Kamala out to be the sacrificial lamb. Either that or they truly believed that people were so easily swayed that they could install yet another puppet in the Oval Office.
