Really, in the West we only care about tangible things and materialistic realities like those that only money and personal achievements can provide for. Experience is nice, but vacuous if you cannot provide a measurement of it.

  7.  @nyali2  I have been thinking: Hungary joined the EU in 2003 and even though there has been economic growth in that country, much of that growth was due to European subsidies. However, what is more striking is the fact that most East european countries have not really benefited from EU membership in terms of acquired economic development.
