I don't think it is useful to undermine the position of the British PM. We cannot sidestep Boris and we cannot speak for the British; we speak for ourselves.

@leotran9259 Unfortunately, I have to agree with you: it was a pitiful act by Barnier. If this would have been Greece, the EU would not shirk to disengage negotiations. I take issue with the subsumption of an economic argument in a political matter, and in spite of the genuine problems some countries have with the UK sidestepping EU regulations, the EU is forcing efforts to reach a deal. I do hope that Boris will push for a no deal, and Barnier stops the unauthorized political meddling.

I have to agree that the EU is quite stubborn. But why is the UK still doing the negotiations? Boris promised to walk away, and he sits idle instead. Why not be clear about it: time is up, you had your chance and I am fed up with you.

Let's see how high the UK's public debt can get.

Aris Georgopoulos Brexit is fundamentally impossible and undeliverable. There is no Brexit to an independent UK. Brexit was about taking back control and leaving without a trade arrangement is tantamount to losing control. Brexit the UK will not; the British will have to figure out how to tergiversate between independence and trade. Boris won't accept that side effects ensue from a trade deal, and there is no such thing as a FTA. So, is a no deal a no-brainer for Boris? Since party politics is so important, I want the Boris administration to pay, electorally, for the consequences of a hard Brexit compounded by the consequences of COVID19; and so, I want a no deal for the UK. Thereafter, the UK can opt for accession to the EU again, and I will be the first to champion for the UK's readmission to the EU.

Aris Georgopoulos Let's go though this and disenfranchise the conservatives.
