On 24 February, Vladimir Putin invoked Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, which provides for mutual military assistance in the framework of a defensive alliance. Article 51 - the same excuse the USA uses to illegally invade countries on the other side of the globe. the same article that the USA used to murder General Soleimani in Iran. How far from the USA is Iran? the UN stated that the USA had no legal right to invade Iraq - as usual the USA ignored the UN.

@duncansmith7576 i suggest you read Jacques Bauds many articles starting with "Part One the Road to War" where he states as part of the UN, and with Polish intelligence they found no RU involvement in the Donbas, RU repeatedly stated it is an internal UA problem and the troops who joined the Donbas were RU speakers from the UA military

Keep watching CNN for more lies and blsht. and what protection is NATO? they thought they could defeat RU so the west could rape RU of its oil, gas and mineral wealth but theu failed misserably. @duncansmith7576 Crimea has been Russian since Catherine the Great, Crimea voted to be governed by Moscow in 1991 6 months BEFORE UA voted to become independant, and if that aint good enough for you - RU has their naval base there since the 1780's - so of course they have troops there. What about how the USA spent $6 billion on their violent and illegal coup to overthrow the democratically elected President Yanukovych? All to install a Govt openly hostile to RU where Poroshenky & Zelensky shelled the Donbas killing over 14,000 since 2014 - all with the approval of the USA / NATO / EU. Zelensky ran on a platform of peace saying he would end the shelling of the Donbas but instead of ending it - he increased it as noted by OSCE. Oleksii Arestovych a former UA aid to the President stated (as have others) that RU were extremely generous with concessions to end the fighting in April 2022 for neutrality - but then the USA told UK to send Boris Johnson to UA and he told Zelensky not to sign peace but to go to war. Arestovych in 2019 on UA TV also stated for UA to join NATO they need to provoke war with RU that leads to Russias defeat.

@duncansmith7576 Oleksii Arestovych - former Ukraine Presidential aid stated - RU offerd generous concessions for neutrality where the Donbas remains in UA - just as it would have been if Zelensky abided by Minsk 2 agreement, Boris Johnson UK flew to UA and told Zelensky not to sign., Why are you so fkn ignorant to check that yourself and get the facts? Once you listen to his interview you will see that this is the USA's Proxy war - the US following George Soros' New World Order policy from the 1990's - to go to war with RU, you need to use Eastern European manpower with modern NATO weapons - NATO nations would not tolerate bodybags returning to their soil. Try looking it up yourself and reading it, then you;ll see this is exactly what the USA is doing.

@duncansmith7576 try getting off your lard a$$ and reserarch about Poroshenco's shelling the Donbas and Zelensky increasing this shelling as noted by OSCE - the Donbas declared themselves independant as is their right under international law for self determination. OSCE not only noted a massive increase of shelling on the Donbas but also a massive build up of UA troops on the border - RU used the UN article right for pre-emptive self defence to end the murder of Russian speakers in the Donbas. RU used the very same excuse the USA used when they murdered General Soleimani in Irag - who is on the other side of the globe from the USA.

But he knew that whatever its nature or scale, the intervention would trigger a storm of sanctions. Therefore, whether Russian intervention were limited to the Donbass or went further to put pressure on the West for the status of the Ukraine, the price to pay would be the same. This is what he explained in his speech on February 21.

@amschelco.1434 any document signed by the "Anglos" (USA) isn't worth the paper it is printed on - it started with the American Indians in the 1800's and continues to this day.
