  2. UN stipulates what sanctions are and must be approved by the UN Security Council in order to be legal. Sanctions imposed unilaterally or by some club of nations in circumvention of the UN Security Council are illegal. Sanctions that the USA & EU have applied to Russia are illegal, the fact that the UN Security Council has done nothing is proof of how useless or corrupt it is. The US repeatedly ignore International Law & the UN Charter
