@HariSeldon913 They are placed close to the road to prevent road hunting. Shooting from a road is illegal and dangerous.

I have 510 acres and do occasionally find mystery game cameras. I usually just shoot them down. Never considered that they might be government property. Oh well.

@gungadinn I always just shoot them down and leave the "carcass" as a warning. Never considered that the game cam might be government property.

@westtexas806 The decoy is placed close to the road and at night. Shooting from the road is illegal. So is night hunting.

Wardens and such monitor the (endangered) Houston Toad population on my property. They always contact me first.

Could you repeat that... S L O W L Y?

@b_uppy Nothing hazy about it. 😁

When I find one on my property I shoot them down. I'm red/green color blind so they really pop out to me. And my dog can spot one at a good distance.

Anything put on My property and left is therefore target practice.

Then get a warrant.

True in Texas. I lived here 20 years before I knew that. That was until I walked up on a game warden that set me straight. Me walking up waving and smiling dead square in the middle of someone else's property.

Find the nearest truck stop Any 18 wheeler will do. 😁

Or maybe just suspicion of intent.

What if is YOUR 20 acres?

No probable cause? Just pick a home and kick in the door?

@B5152g How did you handle it?

@elund408 I believe that the courts have ruled that a person still has the reasonable expectation of privacy. You can't hover a drone outside a bedroom window.
1
@suedenim9208 I was unaware of that.
1
@suedenim9208 I was thinking of a backyard window. There would be a reasonable expectation of privacy.

@suedenim9208 I just checked Texas drone laws where I am. ...this code restricts flying drones over certain areas such as correctional facilities, private property, and so on. It also prohibits capturing photographs and distributing them. According to Texas drone laws over private property, flying an unmanned aircraft over a privately owned real estate property with the intent to conduct surveillance is considered an offense.

@suedenim9208 It's held up in court. Soooooo... I've shot down a few already. If anyone want's to make a big deal out of it they have to admit to being in violation of the law. Soooooo... Nothing is unconstitutional unless the Supreme Court says so. And "problematic" is just liberal speak for "I disagree therefore everyone else is wrong".

Place it on an opposing tree and see who comes to collect.
