  31.  @snarkymoosesshack8793  I was involved in a justified use of lethal force. There were also two witnesses. My lawyer didn't allow me to even make a statement to police. No deposition. No comments to anyone whatsoever. He said that nothing I say can help (already two witnesses) but everything I say may hurt. Any comment that differed in the slightest from the witnesses could lead to prosecution.

  34. One of my engineers (retired) was a Russian immigrant. Brezhnev rounded up and un-lifed most of his and his wife's families. He and his wife escaped in the '80s. Their American born daughter got a full ride academic scholarship to Berklee. She came home after her first semester and told her parents that they were stupid for abandoning the communist Utopia of Belarus. And how Brezhnev must have had a good reason for dealing with her grandparents the way he did. And wanted to know why they didn't appreciate everything their government did for them. She was immediately cut off financially. He didn't even pay her plane fare back. She was forced to get a job if she wanted to eat. After another semester she dropped out really believing that her parents owed it to her for forcing her to be born in America. When he passed over a decade later they were still estranged.

  46.  @treeherder2201  Same here. My highest paid engineer is a gay woman. She's a talented beast. More often than not those that inform me of their pronouns appear straight but trying to prove how woke and down with the cause they are. We're an international company and I can't imagine what would happen if I sent one to an SE Asian or N African country and they played the pronoun game. They might not make it back.
