I know someone that married a porn star. It destroyed his life. He lost his 6 figure job. 15 years later he can't work in his chosen field. Unfortunately they chose to have children. They have been forced to move and change schools at least once when the classmates found out about their mother's past. A cautionary tale.

@KnightGlint You don't think a family member can cost you your job? I've been forced to fire men because their wives would show up at the office and cause a scene. I've not hired people because of their spouse's social media. Run a business and you will understand.

@anahitaazadeh3449 As far as I know they are still together. They disassociated themselves with everyone that knew them before. His sister talks with him every few years and I'll occasionally inquire. He's an engineer with a degree from MIT but last I heard managed a Putt Putt.

@carbon1255 I've only spoken to him once since she cost him his 6 figure job (15 yrs ago). He was looking for a job and I told him that none of my clients would touch him. He calls his sister every few years when his life is upended and he loses everything or is forced to move again. What do you think?

@kevinb9830 We all tried to talk him out of it. I just wish they had chosen not to have kids.

@carbon1255 Seems that you are trying to rationalize something in your life? He only did one thing wrong. For over 15 years he (and now his children) are paying the price. He made himself unemployable in his chosen profession. I have no idea how his life is going. He disassociated himself from everyone and has to constantly move to escape his wife's poor life choices. BTW...I did a little digging. They've moved again since the last time the had to move because their children were being traumatized. Sound to you like he's living his best life?

@sevenproxies4255 The first time his employer sent him to (if I recall) Japan to make a presentation for a lucrative contract. By the time he arrived clips of his wife were circulating around the client's office. They humiliated him with their laughter and sent him packing. The client contacted his employer and made it abundantly clear why they wouldn't utilize them in the future. He was immediately let go. Losing the contract meant layoffs so other people were let go as well.

I've had to disregard applicants when our background check revealed that they were OF "models". It's not worth losing a client. And it's an EEOC lawsuit waiting to happen.

@zednotzee No idea why he's continued to allowed her to drag him down. I do know that they have no stuff for her to get half of so that can't be it. As said, he has no contact with anyone other than his sister. And that's only every few years when his beloved wife causes his life to fall apart.

@IWanderedAsACloud They are still together so that's probably the case. But he went in with blinders on believing that everything was going to be puppies and rainbows. He gave up everything. She gave up nothing and dragged him down to her level.

If that's so then why don't you use your real name when making comments promoting hate, violence and killin' sprees?

@nikkili8944 About 1/2 of recent grads applications are eliminated after a quick scan of their social media. Of that half are eliminated after a professional background check. OF is becoming more and more prevalent. I hate to say this but if an applicant is a recent grad and attractive female an OF account or amateur pr@wn is becoming the norm.

@pera.j.andersson Was Marylin filmed being made water tight by 3 guys on more than one occasion? Unless you hire engineers your opinion is irrelevant. Here's an idea...start a business. Invest your blood, sweat and tears. Then lose it all because you premeditatedly chose the wrong hire. Tell all of your now unemployed former employees and their families how right you are.

How about someone married to a violent "activist" with multiple felony charges? He knew what she was and married her anyway. He was warned. Do a simple search. See what happens to former prawn stars and the men stupid enough to marry them. Do a tiny bit of research before making wild accusations. Believe the science.

@johnnyreedy2739 I only read the first few lines. Your feelings are irrelevant. This is the real world. A large router manufacturer felt that hey could hire a convicted seggs offender. It cost them dearly. And in the real world YOU wouldn't hire someone that you knew absolutely was going to be a hindrance to your success. What happens if just one of your employees makes a comment about his wife's past? There a multi million dollar lawsuit. Nowhere in the Bible or Constitution does it say that life is fair. Feelings are not reality. Once again, your feelings on the matter are irrelevant.

Over half of all qualified applications I receive are immediately eliminated with a simple search of their social media. About half of what's left are eliminated with a professional background check. Usually because of their harder to find social media. 75-80% don't stand a chance just because of dumb stuff they themselves put online.
