  1. Nah, I think on a more basic level, she felt under the protection of a strong man, who signaled with his words and his actions, that he was able and willing to take care of her safety and needs. This eppealed to some instincts deeply burried in her "ape-brain" Beeing strong and independent when your walk down a dark and solitaire alley must not be easy, compared to do it with a man on your side, willing to do whatever it takes to get your safe to the other end (although this feeling MAY be an ilusion, it is a comforting one)
