Nah, I think on a more basic level, she felt under the protection of a strong man, who signaled with his words and his actions, that he was able and willing to take care of her safety and needs.   23. All the clothes I have on right now may be worth (when they were new) 200 or 250 bucks. And that`s only beacuse we have here a bad weather front, it is very cold, and I am wearing A LOT of clothes. Also I need to customize my shoes (one of my legs is 2 cm shorter than the other), and it is somehow expensive to get it done properly. My clothes may not be fashion, but they are resistent, and could perfectly serve me in a zombie-apocalypse (wich is something I always consider in any purchase I make......). Also, I will keep on wearing them, till they fall apart, and then buy the most similar thing (or exactly the same) I can find, (probably in some years). If it isn`t broken, why fix it?

  36. 52 yo here. Have my house my car and no debts. I don`t do a single hour of overtime. I they want the job done, they should hire more people. Period. Who ends up making overtime? The dudes with children, a mortage, or an alimony to pay! I don`t blame them, they have responsabilities, but I have designed my life porpousely to NOT be trapped in such a situation...... In some years I will buy a piece of land in the middle of nowehre, put a house/cabin on it and try to be as autosuficient as possible. After some years more, I will just reduce my work hours and work basically a part time job (we have universal healthcare, and the amount of hours I work don`t have any influence in my health-plan)......till my retirement...... Perhaps no the greatest achievements, but it was the best I could do with the cards I was given....... And now excuse me, Warhammer 40k Rouge-Trader has just come out today, and I want to give it a try! 😉

  41. We all have a breaking point. When I was younger, I had to take care of my Grandmother who had a stroke that left the right part of her body paralized. When she died after five years, I was sad, but also relieved. I honestly don`t know how much longer I could have hold out before breaking down (indeed, I had to seek mental help after that episode). Some people can hold longer, and other break at the first sight of problems, but eventually, if we take enough hits, we all break down. Even you. Trust me.

Although we cannot predict EXACTLY when and how you are going to kick the bucket, we know for shure that it is not going to end well.......   102. I have never been in Canada, but it seems like a big country with lot of empty spaces......can`t you just settle in the middle of nowhere and tell the rest of the world to go kick rocks? In the pandemic some places of my country, very isolated (mountain regions with bad roads and awfull public transport conections, the kind of place that gets easely cut off the world as soon as there is any weather other than a perfect one), inhabited mostly by elderly people, simply strenghened their isolation by going no-contact with outsiders (easy to do when there is only one small and barelly drivable road to go in and out of that place), and basically did a normall life in their villages , with their neighbours, while the people in the big cities, or well conected villages, had to adhere strictly to the quarantine.........

Also, do to my work, I have contact with TONS of people on a dayly basis, and when I have to visit an elderely home, or places where people with healthproblems live (also work related), I wear a mask to protect THEM (because this kind of people have enough problems, without me worsening their situation). What about the infertile ones? Are they not women? And the ones over 45? Do they magically transform in butterflies, and cease to be women because they no longer can have children? There are THREE genders, male (a person with XY-genes), females (a person with XX-genes), and rare cases of hermafroditism, were persons show traces of both genes at the same time ( cientists theorize that it could happen do to an egg beeing fertilized by TWO spermatozooms at the same time, so that the embrio develops cells with BOTH combinations of genes (some XX, and other¡ XY) who merge in a single human beeing). If a man, or a woman, wants to adopt the living style and apereance of the other gender (or something completly new), I have no problem with it, but it won`t change their genetic code. They will be still men and woman......regardless of what they do or think.

  203. I was like this guy in my teens and early 20s. Then I seeked prefesional mental health, improved myself and began dating (although, all the ladies I engaged with were crazy, and not the funny type of crazy). Finally I met a girl I proposed to (despite never wanting to marry, but I thought I had landed a good one, wanted to keep her in my life, and guessed that at 30 yo, it was time to settle down). With the wedding already agreed, she crushed me so hard, that I simply walked away from her and from dating, got a job in another continent, and never looked back. That was 23 years ago. 23 peacefull and happy years.........

Not only do richer people commit less crimes (they mostly don`t need to and have more to loose), but also, having more wealth (and conections) helps a lot when going away with a crime....... If you check it you will see how MOST of the black people convicted are also POOR, fatherless, and not all to educated........not that they shouldn`t face the consequence of their actions, but we have to aknowledge that they had bad cards from the begining.....

He left behind such a sh*t-scenario that Biden (or whoever was in charge) wasn`t able to reverse the situation, and basically had to retreat leaving tons of equipment behind and the country served on a silverplate to the Talibans, who then again handeld it over to the Chinese in almost every important aspect, as long as they kept the money flowing and don`t interfere in local politics.......... They even cooperate in hunting down the chinese local islamists from the Uigur-minority! Aparently, Biden (or whoever is in charge) is trying now to return the favour, by deteriorating the situation in Ukraine to such extent, that Trump will be simply unable to get his hands out of this mess for a long time......... What a wonderfull time to be a chinese Inteligence-Officer........(I wonder if they accept aplications)

  217. There are more involuntarely celibates than ever, and thanks to the social media, they can find each other, bond, fuel and feedback their rage and frustration. What were once some isolated individuals, easy to ignore, has become a worldwide subculture of extremly frustrated young men, a barrel full of fuel, waiting only for a spark to ignite In their torment and suffering, they are raising some valid questions, and if we, the society, don`t provide some valid answers, SOMEBODY will. And we won`t like the outcome. Trust me........ They shouldn`t be mocked and tossed away, but get therapy or even psiqiatric treatment, to improve themselves, adapt and overcome their situation, or accept it and live in peace........ Or perhaps, re-introduction of mandatory military service for young men could also be a help for them.........although it could destroy some of them, for most men back in the "good old times" it marked their transition from childhood into a "traditional" manhood, and was truly a life-changing expirience......
