There's desperation in Europe where for over 60 years practiced Europe first ignoring every American president telling Europe to spend more on their own defense??!! Europe might actually have to spend their own taxpayer money instead of the American taxpayer's money! Shocking! The gall of an American president expecting European allies provide their fair share of Europe's collective defense. Imagine those 13 NATO countries still not paying at least 2% of GDP even after decades of devastating cuts to defense budgets, forces and defense manufacturing capabilities. President Donald Trump's words may finally achieve what 11 other American presidents failed to do-Europe paying their fair share of their own defense. Even the NATO Secretary General said recently, Canada and Europe have not fairly shared the defense burden for some time now.

Horrible American companies! The gall after decades of most European countries drastically cutting there defense spending and capabilities for decades to lobby the EU to buy American weapons and aircraft! I would not count on European countries so focused on fattening their government pensions and standard of living providing enough weapons for Europe let alone ammo. Germany produces three tanks a month and hopes to bring a factory online in a year to produce 200,000 155 artillery shells a year. That's close to the amount Ukraine fired in one month last summer. It also has enough ammo to fight two days. "The European Union threatened to cut off weapons to the UK and keep arms within the bloc - in new plans announced to prepare for a potential conflict with Russia. The EU's industry commissioner Thierry Breton announced the overhaul to the bloc's military strategy yesterday, saying that the union had to look after itself in a 'security crisis'.The plans would also see EU countries forced to limit the amount of weapons they could buy from UK-based firms, including BAE systems, if they wanted to receive extra funds from the bloc's budget allocation. The proposed arms policy is part of a wider scheme to boost the EU's security as war with Vladimir Putin's Russia looks increasingly possible. DailyMail 5 MAR 2024
