  1. This was all planned by President Zelenskyy who ignored his own staff's guidance on dealing with President Trump during his visit to the Oval Office. Three times, President Zelensky agreed to sign a mineral deal after getting his legislature's approval, three times he reneged. Even though the US explained multiple times to President Zelenskyy the US goal was diplomacy and an enforced ceasefire leading to peace negotiations, he told President Trump diplomacy with Russia was impossible. That is what led to the disagreement and the resulting cut in US military aid and intel.
