  1. For 75 years have been complacent about their own collective defense. Expecting American military capabilities and financing, to save Europe. For 75 years, European leaders ignored every American President criticizing Europe for cutting their own defense funding and capabilities. Strong leaders realize there is no political will to pull defense Euros from the bloated government pensions and popular socialist programs back to defense budgets and support for Ukraine. Western Europeans are far more interested in getting back to making money selling French caviar, German BMW's and London estates to Russians hence the lack of political will.

  2. The more credible historical lesson is the end of WW2 and the West's inevitable victory as the Soviet Union collapsed without the west firing a shot. Look at the temporary surrender of eastern Europe and eastern Germany. This time enabled Germany and the western allies to rebuild after an incredible amount of destruction and devastation. Russia is so weak that it won't take long for its economy to collapse while the west helps Ukraine rebuild, rearm and repatriate millions of Ukrainians.
