@Ju88327 Yes I know how it works. Although that is not officially how it works, the supposed procedure is called the Spitzenkandidat system but it is completely ignored. The candidates are supposed to be known to all before the "election" (if you can call an election where most of the winners are decided before a vote is cast an election), even takes place. Can you think of any other "Democracy" that only has one candidate to vote for? The only people that have that sort of a system are totalitarian regimes.... And in all countries where the President has a lot of power and is not just a symboloic head of state, the people vote, the French Population vote for the President of France, the American Population vote for the President of the USA, but in the EU there is only one candidate and the people don't get a vote at all. I know how the EU system is supposed to work, how it actually does work, and that it is not democratic.

@Ju88327 I'll try posting it in bits Yes but how many Europeans knew that, even you didn't until I told you and you looked it up, and you think you are an expert. You do realise that the people were never asked that? Or actually they were, it was in the EU constitution. and the French the Dutch and the Irish all voted no to the EU constitution. So the EU changed it to a treaty, the Lisbon Treaty which they could have signed by the Politicians rather than the people voting for what is constitutional change and would normally be the subject of a referendum. The text of the Lisbon Treaty is identical to the text of the constitution. Giscard D'Estaing who wrote it said so. It's much easier to bribe or force 27 politicians to sign a piece of paper than to convince the people, so in true EU style they just ignored the people. Everything they do is about imposing their will and when the people say no they ignore them.

@Ju88327 Just read the other comments on this pro Eu video. Lot's of people from many countries have woken up to the EU, maybe you need to study it more closely. Oh and now you have discovered you aren't an expert you certainly seemed to think you were, you did say "learn about EU before commenting".

@Ju88327 Well here's an easy way to work it out. In France there was Le Pen or Macron, In the US last time it was Trump or Biden, In the EU it was Von der Leyen or ????? Oh yeah nobody else. So that's how you know there was only one candidate.

@Ju88327 They could not be bribed or blackmailed or forced like the lackeys who want to ensure their promotion prospects. MEP is not where the money is you want a nice job as an advisor or consultant or something like that in a nice office with no real responsibility, and in order to get one of those jobs you need to be seen to be compliant with the wishes of the Commission.

@ovidiuov4317 If you can call preselecting most of the MEPs democracy. Plus the Parliament has almost no power at all, it is only for rubber stamping duties. Like rubber stamping the only candidate for President of the unelected Commission that is the only body that can make laws. It's a sham democracy, it is intentionally designed to keep the people as far away from any decision making process or having any influence in the law making process.

As JC Junker put it "If it's a Yes, we will say 'on we go', and if it's a No we will say 'we continue’" They rely on sheep like yourself who believe it is all democratic and lovely, as they walk you slowly to serfdom. If it was democratic then people would run for the job, the people would vote and the winner would be chosen by the people, but that is too risky for the "Project", they need somebody who will carry on with the plan. What's the plan you ask? Well the eradication of your country, it will all be one big happy Europe ruled by unelected bureacrats in Brussels. You won't have a meaningful vote you won't be able to change or influence anything, you will just have to do whatever Brussels orders. Or you can wake up and keep your country !!

@Ju88327 But you are thinking that the "elections" for the MEPs should also be the elections for the President. There should be a separate election for the President. Like in all the other countries where the President has so much power. Thing is that the EU is no longer a trade bloc. It is the supreme legislator for all its members. Its law is supreme, its courts have the final say. You country is in the hands of the EU. They control your trade, your agriculture, your fishing, if you use the Euro, your money. They tell you what your taxes can be, you have to ask permission to change VAT rates, they control your borders too. That's an awful lot of power to be handed to someone who is selected and presented as the only candidate, and confirmed in a Yes/No simple majority vote by 720 people.

@Ju88327 Can you think of any other country in the world that has only one candidate? Open your eyes. The longer you wait to wake up the more power they will have and the harder it will be to leave. Look at how they tried to stop the UK leaving, tried to force us to have a second referendum, worked and colluded with remain supporters to undermine the negotiations, were extremely belligerent, are still trying to get us to rejoin by stealth. They all have their noses in the trough, except those who are there to try and stop them.
