  1. I have a project car - D5 Volvo V70. It's currently making 401WHP and 757ft lbs @ 2800 rpm. It's just over 2.3 tons with driver and fully fuelled. It's not designed to be raced, it's a oem+ build that I use daily. I wouldn't describe it as fast, but I love it my tank 😄

  3. It amazes me what Engineers can create when allowed funding, time and a given no rules. Imagine a modern day Concord or SR-71!? Heck even weapon systems have rules governing them.

  8. Personally: I'd use a 2.0 ltr V6 (Hot twin-turbos) Diesel-Hybrid, mated to a CVT gearbox + AWD. I keep the engine components as light as possible, whilst making up for the lack of torque (relative) via electric motors. I'd also use a technology I've designed and tested: a passive electric generater that requires the vehicle to be moving. A fraction of the KERS systems, in terms of weight (unsprung), cost and complexity.
