I've made 4 different complaints about a drug driver - literally doing drugs whilst driving - yet nothing gets done. Do I have to report it to the finance provider or dealership to get something done???
29
It's rather ironic really, the issue stems from people's misinformed and false notion for the usage of the horn. As you stated BBB. When you understand that the horn isn't a tool for venting anger, the confusion goes away!

Just like how the government gave road tax incentives for people to buy eco-engines, then just moved the requirements for people to get into certain brackets. Or how for decades, it was 'petrol=bad' so we bought diesels, now diesel's are bad and petrols aren't.
11
I legit thought the driver was ready to attack as soon as he stepped out; in full view of others in the day. When the bloke is violent, I can only hope there's people around to witness it!

I had a member of the public report me to the Police for having a hatchet (Small wood axe) on my person (I was in the Brecon Beacons for 7ish days). I explained to the Police that I was using it for wild camping and that it's not the weapon that's the problem, it's the person. The irony is that as a teenager I was trained to go into combat and did see combat, yet I can't be trusted to carry a "weapon" as a adult?! The further Irony was that I had to actively report several men actively out in the mountains shooting!!

BBB - I personally believe people actively look to discredit your videos, purely due to their desire to out-wit a Barrister. Notice how the combatant comments are always so eloquently typed.

The British public are partly to blame - 15-20c isn't particularly warm and yet people out here dressed like it's they're in sub-Saharan African. Since when did the police decide that dress code + weather indicates suspicion?
5
@sidwills Plus the Police will request a speed reduction if they're going to be operating on the motorway. From the OFC Officers I've talked to, they'll reduce stretches down to 40, to minimise the risks and reduce traffic. Safer for everyone involved; voluntary or otherwise.

Question: Could the negative attention from being unknowingly filmed and posted online, be considered 'Defamation'. If the attention gained traction.
4
@GTFour Tbh He thanked me by paying my mortgage off. Other than that, I don't feel entitled to his wealth, yet if I ever go into dire straits, he'd help me out - without hesitation. The sad reality is that him becoming wealthy and me being rewarded for helping has caused a rift between the rest of my siblings.

'cheap knock-off chargers' - Chargers aren't a complex or expensive to design and manufacturer. They're all cheap at the manufacturers side, it's only the consumer side that makes it expensive. Very few people are injured by chargers, what you said was just conflated.

@JesterJ920 There more than likely will be a reason, other than, 'it was forgotten about'.

I've a story about lending money, yet I'll keep it brief: I purposefully made myself homeless to support my Brother whilst he was living and working as a intern in the City of London. None of my family knew up until three years ago, that I was homeless for almost two years due to financially supporting my Brother. Knowing that he would would achieve his career goals and so much more, I took the risk. He actually admitted to me that, even with such financial support, he was still very much living in poverty for a few years. Now he's 32 and worth millions - to this day I've not asked for it back because it was never a loan.

I saw the same thing on the A515 in the Midlands. The offender overtook myself and a red Skoda Octavia VRS.....the Skoda was a unmarked Police car and took off after him. It get's better! The offender was blocked by a tipper lorry that saw this whilst he was waiting to join the road. 😁

There's no confusion, just people justifying it to themselves, in their own head. The driver wants to believe that what their doing is perfectly fine. E.g. texting whilst driving if it's very important. They excuse themselves and wilfully ignore the rules.

I've been driving in socks for over 17 years. Once you adjust to the feel, you come to realise that shoes are actually a detriment to your driving. I've driven professionally too whilst only wearing socks; had no accidents at all. Never hit or been collided with anything/anyone.
2
Good. Glad the driver got punished - I'm 100% certain he wouldn't want his dead family members filmed by strangers driving past.
2
@scottgriffin2457 Tbh my current boss was a highways/FAO Officer for 17 years. He's always advised to never willingly go to the police station, as they'll come to you if they want. If the Police really want you, they'll unlawfully arrest you (assuming you are actually being wrongfully accused) at your home. A far more advantageous position for yourself.
2
Imagine the directors of a international bank going to jail over something as refusing to pay. It's not like banks aren't fined tens/hundreds of millions.
2
Taking tiktok advice/information seriously is just asking for trouble; quite a reflection on the society of today.
2
@davecooper3238 You missed the point. Your clothing doesn't indicate intent, yet you're saying it does? As BBB said - he was dressed in multiple layers, yet would he arouse your suspicion? If your answer is no, then it's down to skin colour. If it's yes, explain.
2
Can confirm about the car. I wanted to put £27k down as cash, yet the dealership would need to verify the process first, before agreeing. Long story short, I ended up making a transfer and depositing the cash.
2
I disagree about drawing hard conclusions. We all do this, constantly throughout our lives and we shouldn't be using caveats to save face or prevent the ire of criticism. E.g. We often encounter driving errors, yet label the 'offender' as a bad driver or worse - hard conclusion about the person drawn.
2
This is best way of phrasing the topic. Brilliant!
2
I've done a course before and was advised that the course is declared as you've still committed an offence and that not declaring (anything really) can invalidate your insurance. Note: I didn't realise that the right lane on a dual carriage way (that isn't a national limit), isn't for overtaking, it's for traffic flow.
1
Hours and days at a time? Hardly find that credible.
1
Oh you mean like the systems in place in the P.R.C? I'm sure nothing like that would happen in the U.K. Right?

My Mrs had a heart attack at the wheel in 2014, whilst driving down the M6S/B , at junction 6. It caused - as you'd imagine - absolute chaos and hurt many people. I literally got in my car and sped down the M6 to get to the hospital in Birmingham, from Stoke (She was seriously ill). Due to the crash, several junctions on the southbound were limited to 40MPH, yet I sped through all of them. I ended up with 9 points, a course and a hefty fine. I wasn't banned due to needing my license, just to keep my job. My employer was fine with my actions, yet the CPS clearly wasn't. To this day, I'd do the same again.
1
I don't believe the Police are the issue, it's more the upper management and CPS that fails to adequately process crimes. Personally I'd like to see a Police force like they do in the states.

If I've learnt one something over the years, it's this: Stop giving a hoot and paying attention (after the fact ofc) about other road users. We're all bad drivers in reality as there's not a person that isn't involved, and subsequently labelled as a 'idiot driver', unbeknownst to ourselves. The only concern you should be having as a none-official on the road is your own driving and those to your immediate front, rear and sides. The rest is of no concern to anyone else but the Authorities.
1
Yes. Absolutely! If the government can't set an example, why should the public take any notice of the law?
1
@kernicterus1233 And yet there's moral decorum that should tell you that it's a scummy thing to do.
1
@kernicterus1233 The filming part isn't illegal true, yet the act of it in this man's circumstances was found to be illegal. Daft really as you'd have to slow and there were Police Officers there lol
1
What concerns me are the people looking to buy now. The increase in living costs is essentially making buying even more difficult for new-buyers, compounded by inflation.
1
@shm5547 Let's be real now, people want the sense of achievement from outsmarting someone. See it all the time online. I'll prove it:
1
@shm5547 There is no remotely correlation between you being correct about a online discussion and the impact/effect it'll have on society as a whole and either of the arguing parties' lives. I.e. You being correct doesn't have any tangible effect on reality, besides satisfying the ego.

The best are animal videos: Everyone's the toughest, most bad arse and the most experienced animal expert. Or are so delusional that they're only encounter with animals is in a zoo, farm or virtually lol
1
@kevinprice4005 Which is exactly why the clarification needs explaining and the misinformation - again what BBB stated. People need to stop with the excuses (in general). We've all got driving wrong to some degree.
1
@TheByard What point are you trying to make though?
1
@TheByard Ah right I'm with you; good point.

I was I.D for fuel at 32. All I had was notes on me because I was just out to get fuel...thought the lad was taking the pee.

The NHS and government is full of greedy scalpers, just skimming money into their own pockets. Ambulance crews and Nurses dealing with the worst of situations, only to have budget cuts from managers that are useless in the medical sense, yet will far out-earn anyone on the shop-floor so to say. There's a reason the NHS literally has it's own fraud department.

If you ever need to sign/initial anything under duress or just to annoy ya boss, write 'F.K' - F*** Knows.

My wife worked for a charity in London. It was her worst working experience to date; shook her to her core.

Hazards for me. Couple flashes and most get the idea 😁

I like to go in with a visible needle in my arm and a "questionable object" in my hand; works every time! Sometimes the store will give me money for my hassle and they're so excited that they shout/scream. Makes me happy to see people so elated at work.
1
I never realised how convoluted the U.K road signs are; strange how acclimatised we become to the absolute absurdity.

Question about 13:03: If someone was particulary perceptive, in regards to reading people, you'd not need a lawyer to, as you'd figure out what verdict the Judge is likely to come to. After all, these cases are reviewed by professionals such as yourself; not actively participated in. Unless Alan's experience with such cases are solely 1st hand? In which case it'd be best to employ such a knowledge.

@invisiblewizard2538 How cheap are these chargers you speak of? Yeah you're correct in fairness - especially with fast-charging plugs. My fast charger plug gets hot, so yeah I stand corrected. 👍
