  4. It's the <18 age group I fear for. In the UK, I reckon we'll start seeing younger people starting work sooner, living with their parents for much longer and the second hand car market will boom. They won't have the means to pay for student debt, so University's off the table, nor will they be able to take a car loan out.

Why drive a £40k BMW when you can cycle to work? These are real example that I asked someone I work with. He'd never even challenged his own reasoning on his "choices"....

  26. Gen Z live more vicariously than any other generation. Their opinions, thoughts and beliefs are all heavily gained via social media. Their knowledge isn't gained, it's taught to them via social media. Gen Z are always complaining about the status-quo, yet refuse to accept that their society is the way it is, and that their complaints won't change, say, how the government works. They're the generation that refuses to accept that they have more agency in their lives, than they'd like, regardless of their situation.

  27. My take: Most men want to identify with Patrick Bateman, purely to engage in the hedonistic, immoral life style that the character does. Why? Because Patrick represents the 'gigachad' meme; rich, handsome, muscular. The reality is that most men don't have careers, they have job. They don't work in the top 1>3 power positions of companies, they work for someone else. Most men are indebted to banks, they'll never be financially free. They don't have affairs with beautiful women and fancy dinners, they're alone and eat crap. Most of all: Most men aren't murderers, they're weak of character and purpose. The men that are most like Patrick Bateman aren't idolising him, they've developed into themselves - not trying to roleplay.

By ensuring people need to lend. Take it a step further: Increase the amount someone can lend, ensuring they're indebted for longer. Take it further: Conflate the value of the item, which directly effects how much the bank receives. Take it further: If the bank doesn't get it's income, they get your object. After all, mortgage means 'life-debt'.

  46. I'm old enough to remember when the internet wasn't a cultural norm; no smart phones, no social media. I had to learn and use the technology we have today, which lead to a healthy respect for it. Modern generations lack that fundermental understanding of what they're, unknowingly, addicted too. We have a tool that can spread limitless information about anything, to anyone. Yet what's the effect in 2024? The ever increasing amount of anti-social character traits as normal, the ideology of sinful behaviour and the ever increasing amounts of people that want to become an "influencer". Aka useless to society.

  47. It doesn't take much to learn that modern western societies aren't equipped to develop healthy, functional people any more. Our excessive desire to obtain comfort and ease of life has be traded for our individuality, socio-economic "stability" and the social media - chase that holiday, car, house, career. We've traded our personal responsibility for our own health, that now we have excuses for everything. If you are someone who's lonely, I'd recommend writing a journal and get into nature.

  50. Personally I own a PHEV Toyota. Toyota have been developing hybrid vehicles for decades and so I'd rather trust that experience. Living in rural Scotland makes owning a Tesla unfeasible too.
