  1. Unfortunately that's exactly how the world - society - works. Once a shared view reaches a general consensus, it's definition/meaning/implication is set. For example: You mentioned that the Ford Mustang was considered a girly car a few years ago, yet is incredibly popular, liked and well received now. I completely agree with your point though. Manufacturers should be held accountable when they name their cars. Sure it's their property, yet the 'NSX' (example) was created by people who actually wanted to create a competitor for Ferrari and was bought by people that actually wanted the car.
